The client
Fashion District Festival is a future-facing celebration of fashion, technology, sustainability and culture, held in the heart of East London.
The festival brings together designers, startups and industry leaders for a week of exhibitions, panels, pop-ups and public experiences centred around creative innovation.
I worked with Fashion District on retainer for over three years, becoming an embedded part of their creative ecosystem and helping shape how the brand shows up online and across the city.
the brief
For the 2023 edition of the festival, the team wanted to evolve the visual identity - sharper, more technology-led, and better suited to both digital platforms and large-scale physical environments.
Some core brand elements remained, but the overall system needed refinement: less visual clash, stronger hierarchy and improved adaptability across print and motion.
Sustainability remained central to the brand narrative, but the visual tone needed to feel progressive, bold and forward-looking rather than earthy or passive.
the approach
The refreshed visual language centred around the idea of duality - pairing clean, structured typography with layered textures inspired by data and digital environments.
A refined colour system was introduced: neutral foundations paired with electric accents designed to work equally well across screen-based media and large-format print.
The identity drew inspiration from both fashion technology and street-level culture, resulting in a system that felt simultaneously elevated and accessible.
Across the festival rollout, I created a wide range of assets including motion content, campaign visuals and environmental graphics - from window vinyl takeovers to printed programmes and wayfinding.
